Consumerist.com is a blog that tracks various consumer-corporate relationship hijinks.  It is a good spot to check for recent recalls.  Also, if you wonder who are the companies that suck (for example, Comcast takes a pretty thorough trashing in any given week) Consumerist is a good place to look.

Consumerist also has tips for folks who are looking to get a better response from businesses.  And they keep a good eyeball on the Lead-Tainted-Toy-of-the-Week, doubtlessly in a shipping container coming from China and headed right for your kid’s mouth.

The tone of the website is playful, but mostly safe for work.  Not necessarily the most pro-conservative website, but a pretty good read even if you disagree with their politics.

Consumerist is part of the Gawker network of blogs.  Most of the Gawker blogs range from stupid to downright filthy.  But, Consumerist is a good straight-up blog with a purpose.
